Apparently cinnamon rolls and cheese fries are not on the list of "What to eat while you're trying to get pregnant". Dammit. So I did some research, consulted with doc, and decided to jump on the Gluten Free bandwagon. I'm generally a Paleo kinda gal, but with my appetite quadrupling (convenient eh?) I need a little more in my belly. Okay I'll be honest, I just don't want to give up pasta and bread. I've been pleasantly surprised to say the least, and have managed to stick to this with minimal torture. Here's a look at my meals for the day....because I know you're all dying to know what I eat every day.
BREAKFAST: Gluten-Free Cinnamon Raison Bread + 1 Banana
LUNCH: (pictured above) Gluten-Free Sweet Potato Ravioli. Yes, it was as delicious as it looks. No, I did not put on my apron and whip these up. I give all thanks and praise to Udi's microwave meals (Target).
DINNER: Baby shrimp and broccoli sautéed in low-sodium soy sauce & Sriracha. Another win.
While we're on the topic of food, Doug and I have been combing through Pinterest searching for things like "foods that increase sperm count" and "fertility superfoods". The most interesting thing I've learned is that AVOCADOS triple your success with IVF. Guess I'll be making weekly trips to the Super Mercado during this process. Interesting fact #2: PINEAPPLE CORE (yes, I said CORE) helps with embryo implantation. So when they put our 2 beautiful embryos in, and I'm on bed rest for 2 days, I'll be eating pineapple core like it's my job.
